Quiet by design
A quiet tool does not need to be featureless. It can have strong opinions while keeping those opinions close to the problem it solves.
The difference is visible in the output: ordinary files, familiar protocols, and names that still make sense when inspected by hand.
A useful test
If removing the tool would also make its output difficult to understand, the tool may have captured too much of the work.
